What is Spinal Manipulation?
A spinal manipulation involves a practitioner using their hands to apply a controlled thrust to a joint of your spine. This thrust is usually associated with a “click” or “pop” from the joint being mobilised, followed by a release in pressure around the area being manipulated.
This technique may be used by your treating practitioner in conjunction with other treatment modalities in relieving joint stiffness and pain.
Is Spinal Manipulation Safe?
There are some risks associated with spinal manipulations, however complications are rare. All physiotherapists at City Physio are trained in spinal manipulations and will be able to assess if this manual therapy technique is right for you
